Yay, indeed. I may borrow the minstrels from Monty Python so as to share the joy.
The problem with mono, as compared to a cold, is that you continue to be tired for some weeks afterwards. It's hard to know when to say, I need to rest, and when to say, deal with it and do your work BEFORE it's due, Ky! And I really haven't been doing so, since it's so easy to wrap myself up with a few blankets, tell myself that it's "resting for my health," and spend a few more hours online.
So. 1000-word art history essay due tomorrow. The teacher was out sick today, so it's hard to believe it'll actually be due, and so begin it. After all, he has directions on how to staple essays. If I email it to him, he'll have to print it out and staple himself. My facetiously charitable side says, why make more work for both of us?
More seriously, it is a problem. This morning, I was doing the last-minute art homework for his painting class. If class had been held, I would have been 50 minutes late, out of the four-hour course. I did five mediocre little watercolors, and while I wasn't the only one to be arriving late, I don't want to be either late or absent to a class tomorrow since I was working on the essay.
I'm anxious about starting, and having difficulties, and feeling stupid for having waited so long. Remarkably enough, giving into that feeling reinforces it since when the work is started, the stupid-feeling is quiet strong. A reverse-elastic phenomenon, as the closer you get to the event horizon, the more tension that is experience.
Now that I'm pondering black holes and pretty movie special effects, I'm going to go upload the watercolors.
